Authentic restaurant recommended by Salvadorans with speedy service. Casual ambiance with brightly painted murals on the walls and plenty of tv screens. The food tastes authentic, homemade and delicious. The pupusas, yucca frita con chicharrón, carne guisado, and the pastelitos de carne are worth ordering. Parking is limited.

I've been coming here for several years. They have excellent pupusas. Not greasy. Good masa to filling ratio. Very good curtido (pickled cabbage ) to go with the pupusas. When it's cold out, I enjoy their elote atole ( sweet corn gruel beverage). The chicken soup is excellent; served Salvadoreño style with grilled chicken on the side and a bowl of rice. Many of the waitstaff have worked here for several years. They are professional and attentive. Writing this review makes me want to drop by for lunch!

I had no idea this was the sister restaurant to the one down the street, El Buen Gusto, until I saw the menu and asked to confirm. Family run Mexican and Salvadoran restaurant with delicious authentic and traditional meals. I always get their pupusas and carnitas and they don't disappoint. Sometimes I order a 32 oz to go cup of refried beans because they're so good. I bet they use the lard from the carnitas; delicious!!! Highly recommend this restaurant!!!

My favorite restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Affordable, good, sweet staff and it's authentic

Best pupusas in frogtown. I order ahead at lunch and pick it up from the counter service area and everything is always packed nicely. The pupusa is big enough for me to eat and feel full but if I'm really hungry I get a taco also and it's all under $10 and crazy good.

Wow! This reminded me of my mom's home cooking! The food was amazing! Taste was perfection! I had the carne guisada plate, my wife had the Salpicón with casamiento and the kids had pupusas! All had authentic Salvadoran flavor. I'm from the SGV but definitely would return. The service was great minus a little glitch with a pupusa we ordered! Overall the place was great! Prices were reasonable and enjoyed the vibe and colors of the place! Reminded me of the culture and ambiance! Will say loved the refrescos de Cevada and Ensalada típico drinks of El Salvador!

My previous experience here has mostly been ordering pupusas for pick-up. Today we met with some friends visiting from out-of-state. The restaurant was very busy, which is a great sign. Lunch time on a Monday. I can't remember if Bueno Gusto was ever that busy. We had a large party, so we got to sit at the round table. We all ordered their pupusas, which were good as always. My son got the carne asada tacos, which he enjoyed, now that he has become more adventurous with his eating habits. I'm very glad to have this restaurant near me and that they are doing well. I highly recommend them!
